Alexandra Paul
Alexandra Paul is a Canadian olympic athlete born in Toronto Ontario. Her hometown is Midhurst Ontario. She is 22 years old and the 2010 World Junior Silver Medallist and 2011 Canadian Championship Bronze Medallist for ice dancing. Ice dancing is just a form of figure skating incorporating choreographed dance moves, mainly danced in pairs. Working with Mitchell Islam, they moved to the Detroit area to train with renowned coaches Angelika Krylova and Pasquale Camerlengo, who are also the coaches of Canadian teammates Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje. Alexandra started skating at age 5. She was introduced through a CanSkate after school program along with her two sisters. She enjoys dance and skiing, studying political science and philosophy at Oakland University. She had her olympic dream while watching figure skating events from Nagano 1998. Alexandra’s favourite Olympic memory is watching Jeff Buttle win bronze at Turin 2006. Buttle is her role model because she was able to see how hard he had to work every day to achieve his dream.
